Trung Duong received the Fairey Feagle Dean Family Humanities Award

Trung Duong from Forest, VA received the Fairey Feagle Dean Family Humanities Award Newberry College's annual Awards Day Convocation on April 10.

The Department of Humanities presents The Fairey Feagle Dean Family Humanities Award to a student who has made special contributions and achievements in the humanities. The award is in honor of Newberry College President Emeritus Dr. Glenn Whitesides.

Dwong, a member of the Newberry College wrestling team, is an English major who has distinguished himself throughout his coursework in the major. He has been active in The Write Minds creative writing group and his work has been published in Lacunae, Newberry College's literary journal.

The Newberry College Awards Day Convocation is held annually in the spring and celebrates the outstanding student accomplishments in academics, extra-curricular activities and leadership in campus life. Faculty and staff are also recognized for their contributions to campus life.
