Lake Orion Native Receives Community Scholarship

Madison Hargraves of Lake Orion, MI received the Joe & Jeffrey McDonald Community Service Scholarship at Newberry College's Awards Convocation this spring. The Joe & Jeffrey McDonald Community Service Scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has demonstrated a dedication to public service through involvement in the community. Hargraves, a Junior elementary education major, volleyball athlete, and member of Alpha Xi Delta, has found the time to volunteer with the Newberry Literacy Council's FAST tutoring program and the Newberry County Disabilities & Special Needs Board.
