Former Louisville Student Named ECAC Division II Field Hockey League Defensive Player of the Week

Newberry College junior Dakota Elzy has been named Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II Field Hockey League Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively for the week ending Sept. 18.

The former du Pont Manual High School student notched two key saves in Newberry's 2-1 victory over Belmont Abbey last Wednesday for the Wolves' first win of the season. She also posted a season-high nine saves against Limestone last Friday. The Wolves held the Saints to one goal for the majority of the game before surrendering two goals towards the end of the contest.
