Charlotte Student Study Abroad in Paris

2016 Jun 13

As everyone in MayTerm 106N officially recovers from their jetlag, all involved call the trip a success. Eleven students, including Quincy Kroeschell, embarked on Paris for six days, leaving Newberry on May 9. The group stayed in the business district, on the edge of Paris with a view of the Eiffel Tower.Conveniently, the metro was close, and, as the week progressed, the students became more comfortable using it and exploring the city themselves. One of the most memorable experiences for the class was seeing the Mona Lisa in person at the Louvre. They walked everywhere in order to burn off calories from some of the best food ever tasted including pastries and hot chocolate from Angelina. The students were able to try escargot, along with world-renowned croissants, hot chocolate and see remarkable architecture such as Versailles, Notre Dame, Arch de Triumph and Sacre Coeur. Several students even experienced a professional soccer game. The students became confident independent travelers who took on new experiences. They even endured the rain. EF Tours really made the trip seamless and easy for the class. Everyone gained amazing memories from the trip and are better because of their Paris experience. Sosiak wants to thank everyone who participated. "You all made this a great trip."
