Allen Honored By City Of Newberry

Brooks Allen of Newberry, SC was honored by the City of Newberry at the last city council meeting for outstanding involvement and service to the city as well as the College.

He is a Business Administration major and English Minor holding a 4.0 GPA .

His leadership experience includes being President and Chaplain of Omicron Theta chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon, President of Future Business Leaders of America, President of Sigma Tau Delta, Student Ambassador for the Admissions Department, Past Secretary of Newberry College Republicans, and Student Editor of the Newberry College literary magazine, Lacunae.

He has been on the Dean's List, a Student Marshal, Blue Key Honor Society member, part of Summerland Honors Program, Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society, Order of Omega Greek Honor Society, Sigma Alpha Pi National Society for Leadership and Success. He has recieved honors such as the Donald K Melaas Business Merit Scholarship Award, Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges,.

He has worked as a Youth Group Leader at First Baptist Newberry serving an average of six hours every week, worked as an intern in the Newberry College Public Relations department, and has elementary proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.

In the future he plans to travel to Beijing this May for an international trade conference and this fall pursue a Masters of International Business at USC's Darla Moore School of Business where he also has secured a graduate assistantship.
