Nicole Teal from Inman, SC has been named to the 2014 list of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and colleges.

Since 1936, the Who's Who award has been one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors programs in the nation. Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges is a distinction given to college seniors who demonstrate academic excellence, co-curricular involvement, citizenship and leadership.

Students were nominated by members of the Newberry College community. Each nominee completed an application process and a selection committee ranked applications. The top 10 students were selected and endorsed by Newberry College and forwarded to the program's national office.

"Students were selected for this honor because of their outstanding campus leadership," said Dr. Timothy Elston, vice president for Academic Affairs." National recognition by Who's Who marks a noteworthy level of scholastic and civic achievement."

The Rev. Dr. Mark Scott, former chair of the Newberry College Board of Trustees, served as keynote speaker at an awards convocation near the end of the Fall 2014 semester.
